Custom Sizing & Dimensions
Need something that doesn’t fit a standard size? Most pieces in my shop can be built to your exact measurements — no extra charge for small adjustments. Just ask.
Most custom wood shops offer one or two standard sizes and stop there. I don’t work that way. If you need a cutting board longer than standard to span your counter, a sign sized precisely to a wall you’ve already measured, a box built to hold a specific set of medals — give me your measurements and I’ll tell you what’s possible.
Custom sizing is available on most pieces and adds little to no cost for straightforward dimension changes. The most important thing is to ask before assuming it can’t be done. The answer is usually yes.
“Most people don’t ask because they assume it’s impossible. Ask. Nine times out of ten, I can do it.”
- →Cutting boards & charcuterie boards — any length, width, and thickness. Oversized boards for large kitchen islands are a common request.
- →Signs and wall art — custom width and height to fit a specific wall, doorway, or space. Multi-panel signs available for very wide spans.
- →Keepsake and storage boxes — sized to hold specific items you already own. Bring the dimensions of what you need to store and I’ll build to fit.
- →Pedestals and display stands — custom height and top diameter. Common requests include specific display heights for sculptures, plants, or clocks.
- →Address and welcome signs — sized to fit your specific porch, entryway, or wall space. Width, height, and mounting style all adjustable.
- →Spice racks — custom number of shelves, width, and depth to fit your specific kitchen space.
- →Any other piece in the shop — if it’s not listed here, ask. Most flat and box work can be dimensioned to your specs.

Measurements to include
Length × Width × Height (or diameter if round) in inches. If you’re sizing to fit a specific space, include the maximum dimensions the piece can be. Approximate measurements are fine as a starting point.
What the piece needs to do
Tell me the intended use — is this a cutting board for a large island, a sign for a specific wall, a box to hold a particular set of items? Knowing the function helps me advise on thickness and construction.
Photos help
If you’re sizing a piece to fit a specific space, a photo of the space is worth a thousand words. Send it along with your inquiry and I can often give you a much better recommendation than measurements alone.
