Our Commitment to You

At RG Woodshop, every piece is built to order by hand in our North Carolina workshop by a disabled veteran who takes tremendous pride in the quality of his work. We stand behind every piece we ship. If something is not right, we will make it right — no runaround, no fine print.

Natural Wood Characteristics — Please Read Before Ordering

All RG Woodshop pieces are handcrafted from premium American hardwoods including black walnut, cherry, and red oak. Wood is a natural material and each piece is genuinely unique. While we carefully inspect every piece before shipment and make every effort to select material free of defects, natural characteristics inherent to wood may be present in your finished piece. These include but are not limited to:

  • Natural grain variation and figure patterns unique to each board
  • Minor color variation within the same wood species from piece to piece
  • Small natural checks, mineral streaks, or subtle knot inclusions
  • Variations in tone that develop naturally over time with light exposure
  • Natural movement and subtle response to changes in humidity and temperature

These natural characteristics are not defects — they are what make each handcrafted piece genuinely one of a kind. They are not grounds for return or exchange. We will never ship a piece with structural defects or workmanship flaws that affect the integrity or function of the piece.

Product Use & Food Safety — Important Notice

Not all RG Woodshop products are intended for direct food contact. Please observe the following:

Food-safe products — finished with food-grade mineral oil and safe for direct food contact:

  • Cutting boards and charcuterie boards
  • Serving trays
  • Trivets (Farmhouse Trivet Collection and Silverbrand Trivet Set)
  • Turned wood bowls ordered with food-safe finish
  • Rolling pins

Display only — NOT food-safe — finished with polyurethane or satin finish and not intended for direct food contact, food storage, water, or liquids:

  • All segmented bowls — open and closed
  • All segmented vases — open and closed
  • Candy dishes and decorative vessels (River's Bounty Fish Dish, Frosty's Treat Bowl, Red Oak Horizon Bowl used decoratively)
  • Napkin holders, spice racks, and recipe boxes
  • All decorative wall pieces, signs, clocks, mirrors, and lanterns
  • Pedestals, display stands, and shoe cubbies
  • Jewelry boxes and keepsake boxes
  • Birdhouses
  • Cookie stamp sets — food contact on stamp faces only; the decorative exterior is not food-safe

Vases and decorative vessels — none of RG Woodshop's vases or decorative vessels are suitable for water, soil, or live plants. Wood and glue joints will be damaged by prolonged moisture exposure. These are wood art pieces intended for dry indoor display only.

Standard Orders

Because all RG Woodshop pieces are made to order by hand, we do not accept returns on standard orders once production has begun. If you need to cancel an order, please contact us within 24 hours of placing it — before production starts — and we will issue a full refund. After production has begun, cancellations are not accepted.

Custom and Personalized Orders

All custom and personalized orders — including engraved pieces, custom-sized pieces, and made-to-specification commissions — are final sale once production has begun. A digital proof is provided and approved by the customer before any custom work begins. Once you approve the proof and production starts, the order cannot be cancelled or refunded.

If you notice an error in the proof that we made — incorrect spelling, wrong layout, or a design element that does not match what was agreed — we will correct it at no charge before production begins. Please review your proof carefully before approving it.

Damaged or Defective Items

If your order arrives damaged due to shipping, or if there is a workmanship defect that affects the structural integrity or function of the piece, contact us within 7 days of delivery with the following information:

  • Your order number
  • A description of the damage or defect
  • Clear photos showing the issue

We will review your claim and at our discretion either remake the piece, repair it, or issue a full refund — including return shipping if the item needs to be sent back. We handle every claim personally and respond within 24 hours.

Wrong Item Received

If you receive an item that is different from what you ordered, contact us within 7 days of delivery. We will ship the correct item at no additional cost and provide a prepaid return label for the incorrect item.

Return Shipping

For approved returns due to shipping damage or workmanship defects, RG Woodshop covers all return shipping costs. For all other approved returns, the customer is responsible for return shipping costs. Items must be returned in their original packaging or equivalent protective packaging. RG Woodshop is not responsible for items damaged during return shipping due to improper packaging.

Refund Processing

Approved refunds are processed within 5–7 business days of receiving the returned item or approving the claim. Refunds are issued to the original payment method. Your bank or card issuer may require an additional 3–5 business days to post the refund to your account.
