A feature ring bowl takes everything that makes segmented turning precise and adds one more layer of complexity: a decorative inlay band built from a separate lamination process and incorporated into the bowl at the widest point.
This bowl is built from approximately 230 to 320 individual segments and inlay pieces combined — every one measured, angled, and fitted to a tolerance of less than one millimeter. The chevron inlay on this bowl is made from walnut, maple, and cherry in alternating V-shapes — a pattern that requires its own cutting sequence, its own glue-up, and its own tolerance stack before it ever meets the bowl rings it sits between. The maple accent lines that border the feature ring frame it against the darker segments above and below.
The result is a bowl that reads as a segmented piece from across the room and as a completely different object when you pick it up and look closely at the inlay band.

Food Safe: Finished with food-safe mineral oil. Suitable for dry foods. Hand wash only; do not soak or put in dishwasher.
Natural Wood: Wood is a natural material. Grain variation, color variation, and minor natural characteristics are inherent to the material and are not defects. Every piece is one of a kind.
Made to order in my North Carolina workshop. A 50% deposit is required at order with the balance due before shipment. Deposit is non-refundable once production begins.
